An Uxbridge collision at Sandford Road and Uxbridge Concession Road 3 has left a 45-year-old passenger dead and sent two drivers to hospital, Durham Regional Police said in an October 17 release.

North Division officers responded to the two-vehicle crash at approximately 4:43 p.m. on Friday, October 16. The passenger died at the scene.

Two vehicles involved at rural intersection

Police said a silver 2001 Acura sedan was travelling south on Uxbridge Concession Road 3 toward the stop sign at Sandford Road. As it entered the intersection, it collided with a 2024 Ford F-150 travelling east on Sandford Road.

The Acura’s 53-year-old male driver was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries. The Ford’s 46-year-old male driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The person who died was a passenger in the Acura. Police did not identify him in the release.

Collision investigation continues

Members of the service’s Collision Investigation Unit attended to examine the scene. The road was closed for several hours while investigators collected evidence.
