Three Durham Lotto Max tickets sold in Ajax and Whitby won a combined $1.2 million in prizes from Tuesday night’s draw.
A Maxmillions ticket worth $1 million was sold in Whitby. A second Whitby ticket won $100,000 through MaxPlus, while a ticket sold in Ajax collected a $100,000 Encore prize.
The winning locations were reported Wednesday morning after the October 13 draw. Ticket holders who bought Lotto Max entries in either community are being encouraged to check their numbers carefully.
No ticket matched all the numbers needed to claim Tuesday’s record $85-million jackpot. The top prize will therefore rise to $90 million for the next draw on Friday, October 16.
The local prizes are separate awards tied to different components of the draw. Maxmillions prizes are additional $1-million draws offered when the main Lotto Max jackpot reaches the game’s higher levels. MaxPlus and Encore are separate prize opportunities.
Winning tickets must be validated before a prize can be paid. Players can use an authorized lottery retailer, the official lottery app or other Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation checking services. Tickets should be signed and kept in a secure place until they are validated.
The identities of the Durham winners were not immediately available. OLG normally announces individual winners after they have completed the prize-claim process.
