Ajax Remembers Former Councillor Randy Low

In Ajax, Randy Low is being remembered for his service on town council following an October 20 statement announcing the former councillor’s death.

Mayor Shaun Collier offered condolences to Low’s family and friends on behalf of Ajax Council. The town’s statement says Low was elected in 2000 and served as the Ward 3 local councillor until 2003.

Collier highlighted Low’s work during a period when Ajax was growing and making important municipal investments. The statement points to the McLean Community Centre expansion and construction of the Salem Road interchange at Highway 401 as projects that continue to serve residents.

The mayor’s tribute describes those investments as part of the period in which Low helped guide the community. It does not suggest he acted alone in delivering either project.

Ajax plans to lower its flags to half-mast on a day supported by the family. No date has yet been provided in the statement, so residents should not assume that the flag-lowering has already taken place.

The town did not include a cause of death or funeral arrangements in its announcement.
