Durham Region traffic updates indicate ongoing lane restrictions on Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) in Clarington due to road reconstruction. Restrictions apply from east of Townline Road to west of Enfield Road and are expected to continue until summer 2026, although adverse weather may impact the schedule.

In addition, lane restrictions are in place on Thickson Road North (Regional Road 26) in the Village of Brooklin, Whitby. These restrictions, from Carnwith Drive East to Baldwin Street North, are necessary to safely install a watermain to support new development and are projected to end by April 30, 2026.

Residents and commuters in the area are advised to plan their travel accordingly and follow posted signage to ensure safety during construction. The Region of Durham emphasizes that these measures are essential for infrastructure improvements while maintaining traffic safety.

This Durham Region traffic notice is part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure and accommodate future development in Clarington and Whitby.
